Significant energy savings with concurrent comfort enhancements may be realized from a properly designed TRAV system. High average airflow rates can usually be delivered economically with very low power requirements. Such improved airflow rates provide improved comfort and air quality by maintaining reasonable zone air mix, but does so at low fan energy costs. TRAV resets supply air in part to maintain airflow at 65-70 percent when possible.
Keeping the building in control during occupied and unoccupied hours captures additional energy savings by eliminating the less efficient preconditioning startup sequences. Continuously operating the building's HVAC system has a proven history of improving comfort and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), while reducing energy. TRAV systems regularly result in 30 percent to 50 percent less energy use than standard VAV systems.
