Since chiller plants providing comfort cooling spend most of their time operating at low loads (see the loading profile graph), the improved utilization of variable speed technologies by the Hartman LOOP cuts annual energy use for all-variable speed plants 25% to 45% below that of high-efficiency plants that employ current technologies.
